Q: What is the delivery target of NZPost?
A:

  • Same island: Next working day after pickup

  • Rural areas: Add 2–3 working days

  • Cross island: Within 3 working days, or next working day with an extra charge


Q: Can I book a pickup from a different location other than my address?
A: Yes. NZPost can pick up from any address in New Zealand.


Q: What should I do if the address I want is not in the drop-down list?
A: Start typing the address manually. The system will suggest a match if available.
Do not directly copy-paste an address, as it might not be recognized due to formatting issues.

Q: How should I pack my parcel?
A: You don’t need professional packaging or cartons, but ensure:

  • Items won’t fall out during transport

  • Fragile items are securely packed

  • The parcel can withstand a 1.2-meter free fall impact


Q: Who will pick up my parcel? Will they help me pack the items?
A: NZPost couriers pick up on weekdays only.
They do not assist with packing, weighing, or labeling. Please have your parcel ready.


Q: Will the courier call me before coming?
A: Normally no.
Please leave your parcel in a safe and visible place and leave a note in the booking if needed.


Q: Do I have to print the courier label and attach it to the package?
A:

  • If you can, print and attach the label using a regular or thermal printer

  • If not, write the receiver’s address clearly and select Freight Forward service (only for custom packaging).
    The courier will print and attach the label for an additional fee.


Q: Will you open the package for inspection on pickup?
A: No. Couriers respect your privacy and will not open your package.
However, you are responsible for the contents and condition of the parcel.


Q: Do you pick up items on weekends and public holidays?
A: No. NZPost picks up on weekdays only, excluding public holidays.


Q: What if I'm not at home when the courier comes?
A:

  • Leave the parcel in a secure, visible place with clear instructions

  • Or drop it off at any nearby NZPost office


Q: When will the courier pick up my parcel?
A:

  • Booking before 12pm: Usually picked up the same day

  • Booking after 12pm: Pickup on the next working day

  • Rural areas: May take up to 3 additional working days
    If not picked up within 2 working days, call 0800 501 501, or drop off at a nearby post office.
